That Livejournal has suddenly got a new hardcore editor.
Or maybe it's been there for a while and it's just coz I don't use it that much.
Anyways.
We
were hanging out the nappies as there was sun today, we have bizarro
weather (it's meant to be autumn/winter, feels like we're moving into
spring), and noted the bees buzzing around the fully flowering tree
that's hanging over our fence next door. Josh has taught Tao to have a
healthy fear of bees which I'm trying to turn into a healthy respect. I
had one explained to him that the bees hang around the flowers to get
nectar that they make into honey. He remembered that, telling me "Bees
make honey."
I went over the nectar thing again, then expanded on
the honey idea, explaining how they made honeycombs for the honey and
they used the honey to feed baby bees. So now according to Tao "Bees
make honey, feed baby bees."
What we learned today
Zoo Trek
Today was a good day, even if the public transport was a bit of a malarky.
Woke
up in the morning, got myself and Tao breakfast (weetbix with full
cream milk, chopped strawberries and half a banana each) and switched
the tv to ABC kids. Tao had a minor tantrum when he found out Josh had
gone to walk the dog without him, but quickly got over it when he noted
it wasn't getting much reaction from me and watched TV, not touching his
breakfast.
I made egg and ham sandwiches to take to the zoo (two
for me, one without crusts and cut up into four triangles for Tao), two
bananas, and chopped up some cheese and carrot sticks. I even
remembered to take the big bottle of water.
Changed Tao's nappy,
dressed him, put Ruan on the potty where she did a big wee, put the dog
out, got Sprat to hold the door for me and left.
Hurray for The Wiggles!
[imported from livejournal and backdated]
Tao has discovered The Wiggles website. It was my fault, I decided to see if they were going to have any events in Perth anytime soon and he spotted me.
So
now he's on "his" (ie Josh's old) laptop playing the various games they
have littered about their site. So far he's played an instrument game
which is a simple mouse over game, great for teaching tots hand eye
coordination with a mouse. Next I put on the numbers game for him (he
mouses over a number, it gets big, he clicks on it and one of the
Wiggles reads out the number. Think he was trying to learn the numbers
so he could play Wake Up Jeff which requires knowing what the numbers 1,
2 and 3 are.
Now he's currently clicking around Captain Feathersword's screen.
I need to get a smaller mouse for him.
