The day began with Tiny waking us up at 7:30am, standard operating
procedure really. It wouldn't have been so bad if we'd actually had
decent sleep the night before, but Tao was incredibly hungry all night,
and at 3 something in the morning the stupid dog decided he wanted to go
out (and once he was done outside he wanted to come back in obviously).
Anyway. Tao crawled over the top of me and got in Josh's face, and
said quite clearly, "Hello Dad!"
Josh first melted, then asked me if i'd heard that. I confirmed that he had in fact said what Josh had thought he'd said.
He
crawled over me again and grabbed my pen and my diary and started
plaing with them (probably coz he's seen me writing in it. I can't
quite remember what we were talking about coz it was in the morning and
tiring etc. But anyways. We were talking about something or other, and
I said to Tao "Can you clap your hands?" as he's been clapping items in
each hand together for a while but has never actually clapped. Just to
prove that he can in fact understand what we are saying (contrary to
popular belief) he lapped his hands together.
Josh and I got
really excited (as we do at every little thing he does...it's sad really
but i guess you have to be a parent to understand these things) and
clapped and told him how clever he was.
So he kept clapping, although he had this big-eyed stunned expression on his face.
He's also waving at people a lot more when he forgets to be shy around them.
Plus
he has gotten a bit bigger. He's not expanding in size as rapidly as
he has been which is good, i want to be able to cart him around for a
while yet. Though he's always going to be my little baby even when he's
18 and towering over me. TRhough he'll probably be towering when he's
15 coz I'm short.
I am really hoping that the Weeride
supplier place processes things quickly coz I REALLY want this bikeseat
to come in soon so I can use my bike (which still hasn't been used
yet). Considering the amount of postage I'm paying I'm hoping it gets
couriered, and I was hoping to luck out today but as expected that
didn't happen. Hopefully I'll get it before the end of the week, in the
meantime I'm hoping a lot for tomorrow. It'll be nice to go for a ride
around. Plus I hate taking public transport (something about waiting
for it annoys the hell out of me, I don't know why) and I hate driving
(well driving doesn't bother me much but parking and the fact that other
people can't seem to drive annoys me) almost equally. So bike spells
freedom once I get the hang of dinking again, though considering that
Tao is a lot lighter than anyone I have ever dinked (with the exception
of Sprat, but she was 2 or 3 at the time, slightly heavier and in a rear
seat which kept upsetting my balance every time she twisted or leaned
over to look at something). So yeah. Hopefully tomorrow.
Oh yeh. I got new hair. Photos are in my journal.
And now I go to bed.
