tracking

Resumption of the tracking training

It’s been a while but we’re slowly getting back into it. A few days ago I took an old sock (tucked into the waistband of my shorts to help with scenting) and Tali’s giant rope bone to the footy oval and we did a couple of easy tracks to see if he remembered how to do it. He had exactly no trouble remembering how to do it, and the fact it was a black and grey sock on green grass probably didn’t hurt.

Tracking and running and happy. Oh my.

[minor pseudonymising edits during Drupal to hugo migration for all the good that will do now] Earlier this morning, Tali and I headed out to Lumen Christi for the TrackWest Open Day. We did a few tracks instructed by a trainer. First time tracking the poor pup was confused as he had me plus the trainer handling, and new equipment, long lead and harness, but he found 6yo sitting behind a chair in the middle of the wide open oval with no drama after a hesitant start.
