I've spent this entire week ironing the tail.  Also found this helpful setting

and turned it on after actually reading the tooltip while wondering what it did.  I'd been thinking it would be helpful in high poly situations like this if stuff could just be rendered when it was actually in the viewport and smarter people than me obviously thought it would be a good idea too XD

Got about this far from the end yesterday

Go my thoroughly imaginative titles.

Some things are still hurting (including guilt about not making anything to commemorate the deaths of some of my other pets, long other story there) but I'm functional.  Going to try and catch up on all the internet messages now.  The face to face appointments and things are just going to have to wait til next week when I can handle dealing with people that aren't people I like.

A lot of lovebombing from these two helped a lot.  There are a few other non-humans in the house but Taliesin (the dog) and Darkness (the cat) are specifically mine.

My cat Graymalkin died recently.  She was 17 years old, and went peacefully curled up in the sun in one of her favourite sunning spots. 

From when she was a kitten she would snooze or just sit and chill on my lap whenever I was at my computer.  She got me through uni and a bad breakup which had me running home to Christmas Island for a little while.  If not for her I wouldn't have gone back to Perth and would have ended up living a completely different life.  Her weight (what there was of it, she was a teeny tiny cat) and purring and soft fur got me through all the things that required focus and concentration while sitting still.

It's really hard concentrating without her there, and my chest hurts as I wait and then remember she's not going to jump up now.

I have this bias towards cats and dogs in this piece, because I've only ever shared a house with cats and dogs.

My random thought that triggered the blat was that Josh is not going to let me have any more cats.
