Blatting about
More specifically

[first scene - spy movie sendup]

8yo: how do they get all that stuff on the car? It's not big enough.

[at some point during sweeping cinematographic scenes]

8yo: how do cars grow? How do cars make stuff anyway?

Husband: ...you're thinking too much into a movie that has talking cars.

How on earth is it possible to think TOO much? That only makes kids feel guilty about thinking!Asking how cars grow is an exquisite question. Asking what cars make is totally viable and the speaker asking this question is a scientist in the making. Think about it, cars make carbon dioxide. And this creates greenhouse gases. They leave ruts in the muddy road, tire marks on the cement, and when they get checked they dispense with oil, tires, air filters, bird poop, smashed bugs, gum wrappers and all kinds of lint and dried macaroni left from kid's lunches. Then what must we grow because of cars? Roads, bridges, ferry systems, freeways, tollbooths, gas stations, garages, parking lots. Large car manufacturers, steel companies, multinational tire corporations, battery makers, part manufacturers, oil companies and refineries, and oil slicks and leaky ships, and oil-drenched birds, dolphins, seals, and beaches, and out-of-work fisherman, waitresses at coffeeshops, and other kinds of workers by the sea. These kinds of questions require even more thought, not less!Sincerely,A concerned and irrepressible question-asker.
