Poor baby :(

He has a bit of the runs and has been wanting to feed lots. I’ve been feeding him anywhere between every hour to his usual 3 hours. He spent most of yesterday with me asleep (JJ was an absolute sweetie and skipped all his tutes and things to stay home and take care of us, I was sick as well and completely useless), and getting his nappy changed.

[minor pseudonymising edits during Drupal to hugo migration for all the good that will do now] Josh is currently feeling bad coz he is torn between wanting to do well at uni and having a LOT of work to do and spending time with his son. I can understand him wanting to do well and am trying really hard to encourage him but at the same time I am prbably not helping by reminding him that unlike uni which can be repeated, Tiny is never going to be this little again.

That in my opinion is one of the worst possible things that could ever happen to anyone.

Parent Group Review

Although I don’t agree with some of the things being advocated that some of the mothers are doing like controlled crying. But people are going to do what they’re going to do I guess.

Tooth Bud

[minor pseudonymising edits during Drupal to hugo migration for all the good that will do now] Tiny has a tooth bud just visible under his lower gum. I was wondering why he was wanting to chew on things (more specifically, his hands or my fingers). I asked Mum and she agreed with me that it was a bit too early for him to be teething, and she said sometimes their gums get a bit itchy prematurely so they just birte on things to scratch them in a sense.

Bright-Eyed-Baby

[minor pseudonymising edits during Drupal to hugo migration for all the good that will do now] [imported from livejournal and backdated] I don’t think there is any sound in the world more beautiful than a baby or child’s laughter. JJ and I cart Tiny around with us everywhere we go (partly coz he’s breastfed, partly coz we wouldn’t have it any other way), and everywhere we go people are taken by his cuteness.

Sleeping

Good in what sense? Apparently a “good” baby doesn’t cry much and sleeps lots. Rightio then. Tiny slept through the night last night. The night lasted from midnight to 7 something. He had an extremely saturated nappy when we woke up in the morning but seeing as he didn’t wake up for his usual in between change and top up, was to be expected I guess.

Catching Up and AB Calendar

He didn’t manage in the end but it was extremely exciting to watch ;) He was trying to push off the bed with one leg and using the other to try to kick over and get some momentum. Maybe the next time he tries he’ll flick his shoulders in the same direction thus acheiving success :)

Almost Forgot

[minor pseudonymising edits during Drupal to hugo migration for all the good that will do now] [imported from livejournal and backdated] I put Tiny on the floor today while JJ was at uni, down on his tummy coz he was being active and I thought he might like to attempt crawling again (it always frustrates him and he makes lots of noise, I’ll flip him back over as or a bit before he starts crying).

Mother's Group

It was cool. Out of about 9 or so of us all but one used slings (though I was the only one that was actually using mine, the rest had their babies in prams or arms), all but three breastfed exclusively. I was the only one exclusively using cloth nappies though, there was this lady who used cloth nappies at home but disposables for outings.
