Cat!

So Tiny and I were chilling out on the futon, when Malki came along to join us. I reached over and patted her, eliciting a whole string of purrs, standard oeprating procedure. Tiny looked over at her, then reached over and touched her nose ET style and said quite clearly “cat” (with a soft “t”).

Something I vented into the Venting Spot at AltBaby. The CMS is a buggy as piece of crap and wigged out (must be cron time) so I figured I may as well cross post here while waiting to see if it actually went through or not :)
I was at the vet the other day collecting Ghost from his stay at the hospital removing a complicated double abscess, and flicking through a Pet of the Year book. There were ads in it as you’d expect and there was some pet food company pushing feeding of raw meat for good health as a myth, and suggesting it may even be dangerous because their food is a perfect nutritional blend and the feeding of raw meat could lead to nutrional imbalances.

We went out to buy Tiny some new clothes today (again…I have yet to sort through more stuff that we got given to see if he can actually fit any of it). Got him a couple of shirts and some new Bonds suits but haven’t yet bothered to get him more long pants as the weather is slowly warming up.
Strawberries, steps and sweet talk

- STRAWBERRY -
We took Tiny to the markets, went to the stall we always go to. The stall people there love him, and one of the ladies gave him a strawberry. I bit the bottom off it and he noticed me eating it, so opened his mouth and leaned forward. I held it out for him and he got into chewing on it.
Rainbow

Tiny saw his first rainbow today. JJ took him out to go check the mail, and called me out to have a look as well. He said to me “You should have seen his face light up!” What Tiny had done upon spotting the rainbow was that adorable look of wonderment babies get when they encounter something that makes them happy, he’d lifted his head up a bit, then an open-mouthed gummyshark grin had spread slowly across his little face until he was all happy eyes and big gummyshark grin. JJ tried to imitate to show what he meant and did a not too bad job considering they look similar, but JJ is bigger and has teeth ;)
Something about men

I read somewhere that the difference between men and women is that when women have the flu they say they have a cold and when men have a cold they say they have the flu.
JJ has piked on me (it’s 9pm so I guess it’s getting close, we do pike somewhere between 10:30 and midnight depending on various factors). I’ve been trying to take control of the rampant house in general, getting the animals fed at a less obscene hour. Currently catching up with the laundry, folding nappies at the moment and got the normal laundry on, and then the half load of nappies going in and waiting for the other half load tomorrow.

Woke up early today as JJ wanted to get to his exam early (as in leave at about 7:40 or so before rush hour even though the exam was at 9). I wasn’t going to come but seeing as I’d woken up anyway I figured (20mins before JJ decided he was going to leave of course) that I’d come along.
Yet more plans

This talking to JJ about less TV (specially when trying to get the boy to sleep) just does not work when JJ insists on watching TV o_O
Going to Christmas Island in something like two weeks. Worked out that we’re going to have to utilise our remaining disposables that will fit him (that packet went a long way considering we got it when he was born and almost never got used) a couple of days before we leave and a couple of days before we come back so we can wash and dry all his nappies in preparation for our trip.
Bagua

Tiny’s started adding different noises to his repertoire (currently comprising of some adorable cooing noises, squeals, screeches and “ahgoo” and it’s variants).
Strangely enough the most prominent sound is “bagua”. Which I realised after he’d been going “bababababababababa” with various intonations followed by “bua” then “gua”. Then he put it together, muttering “bagua” to himself.

Went to the markets today as we usually do on the weekend to get fruits and vegetables. Tiny (who had a spoonful of yoghurt yesterday) looked around at all the fruits and vegetables and started doing the chewing motion thing. He recognises edible things! I gave him a bit of banana that the owner of the stall we always go to gave us. He gave me that weird not sure if he likes it or not look that he always gives us when we give him something new.
