May ProgBlog #1: arcing the arcs
posted on: Monday, 5 May 2025 @ 11:25pm inIn my infinite wisdom I decided to stay up late again (to 1am which used to be normal bedtime once upon a time but I have been trying to make bedtime 10-10:30 for two decades x_x) to finish the blocking.
So now I’ve been doing more fun stuff like arcing the arcs (so that things don’t just shortest path to the next keyframe like they were doing in the blocking video from the last post)

and blinks (at least for Red as Zip’s eyes are hidden i this one, there are a couple of scenes in the comic where she takes the visor off).

I have a little text file containing the following:
Blink: close 2 hold 1 open 3
Fast: close 2 open 3
Long: close 3 hold 2 open 4
Bat: 3/4 close 1 open 2
(may need to double for 60fps)
Blink once every 4-5 seconds
I copied the numbers from somewhere but as per usual with my resources I almost never note down where I got them from because I never think I will need or want to cite them one day. It’s very useful for things like this because I always forget.
And also had to mess with the bezier handles a little bit to smooth out the graphs so the floors didn’t look so slippery.

I really shouldn’t take too long on this but I’m having fun x_x
