Our garlic bulb has grown quite large but is now looking a bit limp and sad. Got the kids to draw it again (still have to find where 8yo put his first diagram). 8yo’s writing is improving a lot. Got him to work out the perimeter and area (both of just the floor and the entire building) of a building he was making in Minecraft.
6yo wrote out a list of stuff she was planning to do on Friday (art gallery followed by three picks each on the tv), which she has been doing semi-regularly, usually in her “office” (an upside down box in the playroom with a stack of papers on it and a sign reading “[6YO]‘S OFFICE”.
We hit up Jackson’s Drawing Supplies and picked up a box of coloured pencils (I was prepared to splash out on Prismacolours or Derwents or expensive Faber-Castells but fortunately she picked the el cheapo school Faber-Castells) and a sketchbook for 6yo’s art box, as well as canvasses for the big two (I’ve only just realised 8yo is only ever interested in art when 6yo is topping up on supplies), stopped for a play at the cultural centre playground, had lunch and hit up the Art Gallery. We didn’t stay very long as 4yo was being 4. I’ve made plans to just bring 6yo and her artbox back (with my sketchbook and pencil) to check out the Art Gallery and go and find stuff to draw around Perth and go out for lunch without the boys.
